Homegrown Hub Marketplace
Homegrown Hub Marketplace is a digital platform being developed to help rural makers, producers, and small businesses sell products beyond their immediate geography.
For many rural entrepreneurs, the primary barrier to growth is not product quality or effort, but access — access to customers, market visibility, and consistent demand. The Marketplace is designed to reduce that barrier by providing a structured, accessible way to reach broader markets while remaining rooted locally.
Purpose
The Marketplace provides rural businesses with direct access to an active sales environment without requiring relocation, wholesale scaling, or physical storefront expansion.
By participating in the Marketplace, sellers gain exposure to real customer demand, pricing dynamics, and fulfillment expectations through normal market activity. The platform is designed to support sustainable participation at a pace determined by each business rather than encouraging rapid or forced growth.
Who It Is For
Homegrown Hub Marketplace is designed for:
- Rural makers and producers
- Home-based businesses and small enterprises
- Individuals seeking supplemental or incremental income
- Established businesses looking to expand market reach while remaining locally based
Participation is flexible and voluntary, allowing sellers to engage at a level that fits their capacity, seasonality, and goals.
Relationship to the Foundation
Homegrown Hub Marketplace and Homegrown Hub Foundation are separate legal entities with distinct roles.
The Marketplace operates as an independent ecommerce platform that enables product sales and customer access. The Foundation operates separately to support training, incubation, and long-term community sustainability initiatives.
While aligned in mission, the Marketplace does not administer Foundation programs or participant support mechanisms.
Current Status
Homegrown Hub Marketplace is currently in development. Platform features, participation details, and launch information will be shared as they are finalized.
